Before you buy
Does GTA VI have a physical disc?
Rockstar says the physical GTA VI version contains a digital download code and no disc. Buying the box still means downloading the game.
GTA VI digital vs physical: what changes?
The choice is how you receive the download entitlement. A physical purchase does not supply a playable disc or avoid downloading.
- Game delivery
- Digital: purchase through the console storefront. Physical: receive the box and redeem its download code.
- Edition choice
- Digital: Standard or Ultimate. Physical: Standard, with the Ultimate upgrade available digitally after code redemption.
- Pre-order extras
- Rockstar lists the Vintage Vice City Pack for both formats. The GTA+ month is listed for eligible digital purchases; it is not included in Rockstar's physical contents list.
- Preload preparation
- Digital owners can prepare for 12 November 2026. Physical buyers need their code first; retailer shipping or pickup availability is not a guaranteed personal delivery date.
For content and current UK digital prices, use the edition comparison. For claiming a digital bonus, see GTA+ redemption steps for PS5 and Xbox.
When is the physical version available?
Rockstar Support expects retailer shipping and pickup from 12 November 2026. That is an availability statement, not a guaranteed delivery date for an individual order.
Receive the box, redeem its code, then download. For the timing and distinction between preload and playable release, use the physical preload process.
Standard physical edition and pre-order extras
The physical offer is Standard; Rockstar does not offer a physical Ultimate Edition. You can buy the digital Ultimate upgrade after redeeming Standard. The edition comparison explains upgrade content and current UK digital prices.
Rockstar lists one physical pre-order code covering the game and Vintage Vice City Pack. The pack contains:
- '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage
- Outfits and Hairstyles
- Exclusive Weapon Pattern
Rockstar distinguishes the digital GTA+ month from physical pre-order contents. See digital bonus deadlines and platform-specific redemption terms; do not assume that subscription offer comes with the box.
Check the platform, account region and delivery
Choose the correct announced console version. Before importing a box, check the PS5 and Xbox code-region rules.
The Vice City Collection is a separate merchandise purchase with the game sold separately. Read its contents and ordering guide if that is the box you are considering.
The reviewed physical offer provides no basis for promising a later disc version. No final download or installation size is established here.
