GTA VI preload date and process
Rockstar confirms preload starts at local midnight on 12 November 2026. Digital pre-orders qualify; physical buyers can preload after redeeming the included code.
When can digital buyers preload?
Rockstar's local-midnight wording covers the announced PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. It is a local preload opening, not a single UTC download time for everyone.

Can physical GTA VI copies preload?
Yes. Rockstar says codes can be redeemed when received, with pre-launch redemption supporting preload from 12 November. The box contains a download code, so you need to receive and redeem it first.
Shipping and pickup are expected to start that day; this does not guarantee every buyer receives a code at midnight. Check delivery with your retailer. See the physical-copy buying guide and code-region restrictions before ordering.
Downloading early does not mean playing early
GTA VI's release date is 19 November 2026, seven calendar days after preload opens. Preload prepares the download; it does not establish early access.
Final download size, install size and day-one patch size remain unconfirmed in these sources. Local-midnight preload wording does not establish the launch unlock time. The Launch Center separates the UK store timestamp from worldwide timing.
