How to
How do I redeem my GTA VI download code?
Redeem a boxed GTA VI game code through PlayStation Store or Xbox Store. Follow the console steps and check account, region and preload eligibility.

Use the store for the console version you bought: PS5 uses PlayStation Store → More → Redeem Code; Xbox Series X|S uses Store → Redeem. Sign in to the account you want to own the game before entering the code. Rockstar says received physical codes can be redeemed to support preload from 12 November 2026.

- The platform account you want to redeem it on
Redeem on PS5
- Open PlayStation Store on your PS5 and press triangle for the menu.
- Choose More (…) → Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Redeem.
- Select Download when available, or download later.
PlayStation also supports browser redemption through the Store profile menu. Check the account first: a voucher is single-use and its content cannot be moved to another account.
Redeem on Xbox Series X|S
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide and choose Store.
- Press View to open the side menu, then choose Redeem.
- Enter the 25-character code, select Next, and complete the displayed prompts.
Use the Microsoft account you intend to keep the game on. Xbox says a redeemed code cannot be transferred. Its generic redemption page also covers PC products; that does not establish a GTA VI PC version. GTA VI’s announced Xbox version is for Series X|S.
Check a physical code before redeeming
The physical-copy guide owns boxed availability and format questions. Check the platform printed on your purchase and the GTA VI code-region rules, especially before importing a PS5 box.
For a physical preorder, Rockstar lists one code covering the game and Vintage Vice City Pack. Redeeming that entitlement does not document where each bonus appears in-game. A GTA+ subscription offer has a separate digital preorder claim process; do not use those steps to redeem the boxed game.
Redemption prepares the download, not early play
Once you receive the code, redemption supports the announced preload window. Receiving or redeeming it does not move the game’s release date forward. Check release and regional timing separately.
If redemption fails, use the platform’s linked official guidance and your retailer’s support. This guide does not claim a GTA VI-specific error fix or recommend changing account regions to bypass restrictions.
