How to read this guide

Confirmed, demonstrated and merely shown

Explicit statement

A source describes a feature directly. We identify Rockstar, PlayStation or the attributed developer interview, rather than treating all evidence as a Rockstar announcement.

Demonstrated gameplay

Direct gameplay sequences support the actions visible in them. They do not document every rule, unlock or option behind those actions.

Promotional observation

A montage, screenshot or cinematic can show something without establishing player control. Being rendered in-game does not make every shot playable gameplay.

Rockstar describes An Extended Look ↗ as footage captured in-game on PS5. For earlier reveals, use the Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 references; their edited visuals alone do not confirm new mechanics.

Demonstrated gameplay

Jason and Lucia are both playable

The Extended Look shows direct gameplay with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, including transitions between them in active story sequences. That supports playability for both; it does not establish unrestricted manual switching or co-op.

Crime, missions, jobs and police getaways

The Extended Look shows store robberies, a criminal pickup for Boobie Ike and Jason stealing a vehicle. Its job sequences connect the protagonists with supporting characters, including work offered by Brian Heder and a getaway involving Raul Bautista.

Police pursuits and Wanted indicators appear in the escape footage. Those observations establish police involvement, but the exact wanted/police system, AI behaviour and rules for evading detection remain unconfirmed.

Rockstar's synopsis establishes a criminal job gone wrong as the story's premise. The presentation does not supply a complete mission list, mission count or story length.

Driving and vehicles

Driving, vehicle theft and road getaways appear in the Extended Look's gameplay sequences. Its montage also shows dirt bikes, jet skis and fanboat travel; those visuals do not establish every vehicle's availability or controls.

Named vehicle records have their own sources. A model seen in footage is not automatically identified, and performance figures, handling details, prices and unlocks remain unknown.

Weapons and combat

The Extended Look shows cover firefights, handguns, shotguns, automatic weapons and close-quarters combat, including Jason and Lucia fighting together.

These establish visible combat actions and broad weapon types. They do not establish a full arsenal, weapon stats, inventory rules, a complete stealth system or skill progression. Visual resemblance alone cannot identify a gun model.

Official setting and destination profiles

Exploration across Leonida

Rockstar sets GTA VI in Leonida, including Vice City, and publishes destination profiles spanning cities, islands, wetlands and mountain country. That establishes world context, not a complete playable map, road network or world-size measurement.

The number of enterable interiors, property ownership systems and destructible environments remain unknown. Our map reference draws on the existing location records rather than guessed geography.

Dynamic weather and hurricanes

Game Informer's Rockstar developer interview coverage ↗ describes moving clouds, local storms, wet surfaces that persist after rain and rainbows under suitable lighting. It also states that tropical storms and hurricanes occur in Leonida.

Hurricane frequency, scripting, flooding, destruction and consequences for missions or travel are not established.

Wildlife and animal tracking

Game Informer's Rockstar developer interview coverage ↗ describes more than 170 animal species across land, air and sea, and tracking certain animals in Rare, Discoverable and Legendary categories.

The complete species list, harder-to-find animals' identities, exact locations, hunting rewards and capture mechanics remain unknown. Tracking categories do not establish those systems.

Activities shown are not a complete activity list

The Extended Look montage includes gym training, basketball, scuba diving, kayaking, racing, a shooting range, nightlife, backyard wrestling and base-jumping footage. These are scenes shown in the film, not a confirmed checklist of repeatable player activities.

Player control, rules, rewards and progression for each remain unresolved. A gym scene does not establish a strength-stat system; nightlife footage does not establish a playable minigame.

PS5 gameplay features and PS5 Pro support

PlayStation's GTA VI page ↗ describes haptic feedback, adaptive-trigger resistance, Tempest 3D positional audio, SSD fast loading and controller-speaker effects. These are published feature descriptions, not measured GuideStacker results.

The official page labels the game PS5 Pro Enhanced. That label does not establish frame rate, resolution, graphics modes or the exact enhancements. PS5 footage capture also does not establish performance targets.
